Post-school life 1

Hi all!

I feel tired but cannot get to sleep each night. Wonder what is wrong with my body clock function. Anyway, my boyfriend and I watched 200 pounds beauty yesterday after much procrastination, in fact it was a huge decision to make since movies were never a big part of our life. We were deciding between the above chosen movie and Bridge to Terrabithia since the boyfriend claimed that it was his literature text in school. Glad we made the right choice since we both found the show to be touching and interesting and GUESS WHAT?! Today we found out from his sister that it was avaliable on youtube already. Sob.. The other day I tried to watch it online, THERE WERE NO ENGLISH SUBTITLES!! Nevertheless, we enjoyed ourselves and had much fun together.

After the movie, we went to Sim Lim square to get a 1GB ram for my macbook. It's working fastttttt now, amazed at the advances of technology but it came with a little pinch in the heart. After walking for quite a while, we ended up at Liang Seah street where we both shared a Hainanese pork chop, sambal kangkong and one gigantic fried egg at one of our regularly-patronised-foodshop.

Today was a busy day running around as well. My boyfriend came over to pick me up and we headed down to town for a job search. Rushed off to bbdc in the afternoon for my revision lessons since my tp test is on 24th may. For those we are not aware, I am taking my Class 4 driving lessons =) Hope i can pass this test with ease and i'd be equipped with yet another skill. WHEEEEE!

Holidays!!

It's been a long long time. Exams have been over for close to 2 weeks and I am back only now. Guess why? Been extremely busy with tuition and running around looking for jobs to occupy myself but unfortunately, to no avail. The wages are really low nowadays and the job revolves round mundane and boring routines. Still going to continue searching high and low for one together with my boyfriend. Talking about my boyfriend, he has been most understanding and accomodating. Really fortunate to have you in my life for the past one year!

Here's a picture of us and this is before i cut my hair =)

Anyway, yesterday was Mother's Day and I had my fill of delectable cakes!! WHEEEEE! My boyfriend bought a super nice durian cake from 717 whereas I bought one ice cream cake from Angie the Choice to make our mummies happy =) During the past week, we stuffed ourselves with loads of great food. We had a nice dinner at Roland's with my boyfriend's mother and at a chinese restaurant located at Tiong Bahru Plaza with my family. Restaurants were already packed to the brim on friday night. Amazing why you'd only see such a sight on special occasions.

Talking about family, it suddenly occurred to me once again why people draw such clear lines on fulfilling their duties as children. I am utterly disgusted and disappointed with the way some people work and I often ponder and question about their existence in this world. Is it really possible to determine how much care and concern you can give to your parents who have given you unconditional love? the word to note is UNCONDITIONAL. Christians often talk about the uncondition agape love that God has given all of us and moreover, the bible teaches all to respect and honour your parents. It is ironic and unintelligible to me how some followers of Christ appear to be 'the salt and light of the world' and yet they do not practice what they preach. This kind of insensitivity is just one of the MANY flaws I have seen in one such person who portrays himself as a faithful follower.

do we have it?

i am feeling so so much now. probably the pre-exam tension. knowing that i am still so far behind time in revision, i feel extremely lost. will that level of coveted trust still exist even with the passing of time?

things look so bleak, i feel so weak.

this is going to be one last post until a few weeks later. till then....

busy BEEEEE =(

Like the title denotes, i am like a busy bee now. buzzzzzzzzzzz! SIGH, did i mention that uni life is BAD. real BAD. my life seriously revolves just round a routine which does not allow me even a small breather. How ironic when i always hear people around me saying that uni life will be the BEST times in a student's life. AMAZING aint it? uni has brought out the studious sight of me indeed. i am proud to declare, a true blue student is yours truly. i have never-ending projects, assignments which take up the BULK of my whole module assessment, brain-racking tutorials and extremeeeeeeely informative lectures, so much so that it seems very much incomprehensible. All these pretty much explains my absence for such a long long time. I am here blogging away while trying to take a little break from rushing out all the presentations. Did I also mention that I am taking PHYSIOLOGY 2!! wooHhhOOOoooO.. Physio 1 was bad enough and now there's its second part.

Anyway, throughout all these, I managed to derive much joy and laughter going through this mundane lifestyle. There was a fire drill one day because an explosion happened in the experimental lab and a FAIR lady (covered in white powder) ran out of it. The alarm was triggered off and lecture was stopped for close to 20 mins. In the midst of this, me and my friends took some photos in front of the lab =)

FUN outside the lab. FUNNY MAX.

Next up, presenting my FAVOURITE lecturer... who makes staying till the sky turns dark in school all worth it.. DOUGH NUT =)

Well, can you figure out why he is called doughnut from the picture? =) haha

He is undoubtedly the FUNNIEST and the most INTERESTING lecturer anyone can get. Super knowledgeable man too.

Exams are round the corner, after which i'll get my well deserved break. Been working hard this semester, hopefully will reap what i sow. Oh yes, my boyfriend is feeling real upset cause of the scratch on his car. Fortunately, it's not VERY VERY VERY obvious but still relatively so. Hope he'll get over it soon and I think he will after seeing THIS:

WHEEEEEEEEE DEAR!

i dun like school =(

SOB SOB. School has been real bad because of my timetable. I still cannot get used to spending SO MUCH time in school. The past weeks have been just studying, doing tutorials and taking breaks when I can get away from all these yucky stuff. Anyway, I was away on a camp from the 19th to the 21st which changed my perspective of life quite abit. GOOD THING =)

And i finally started with my Pharmacy practice lab sessions. How disgusting! We were made to pound medicine using the pestle and mortar and spent close to 3 hours just learning how to WRAP up the medicine with paper and printing out labels. I felt that it was something that needed only skilful hands and required absolutely no thinking. It is no wonder why pharmacists are given so little recognition even till now. As usual, my butter fingers never failed to let me down =( I spilled powder all over the table and wasted ALOT of medicine. HAHA. Nevertheless, I am still looking forward to subsequent practicals where i'll get to make capsules and mixtures. WHEEEE!!

CNY is round the corner, we must all get on to buying our New Year goods NOW. No more procrastination if not we will all end up with the leftovers. My boyfriend and I will start just THIS FRIDAY =)

Will update again soon when I have the time. Meanwhile, I just want to wish NuXpX's Prexident Mentor, MR LEE JIANN SHINN A HAPPY 22ND BIRTHDAY! Hope you'll have a great day out.

I'M FINALLY BACK!!

WHEEEE!!! NEW YEAR NEW START! I had a great start to 2007 because I cleared my FTT after so long. Thank God for that because I did not really study much and I was uncertain of a handful of the questions. Gut feeling was all that I depended on during the test and it was a true case of "not by might, not by power", like how i described my elation to my boyfriend =)

I can't really recall what I did for the past week except that SCHOOL has started ONCE AGAIN =( Sob sob. I seriously abhor my new timetable! Tuesdays end really late for me and I ended up taking some NOOB level 2 modules. In fact, I was allocated some Government and Politics in Singapore but I was VERY turned off by the 3 two-thousand word essays that I was required to hand in and hence, I decided to drop it and take Statistics instead. Anyway, the more interesting thing is that i managed to get the module Principles of Economics because:
1. My boyfriend is taking the same module this semester in NTU.
2. Since Sec 3, I have been stuck to the triple science combination and it never once crossed my mind that I'd be taking Econs.

VERY VERY excited. Hope everything turns out well.

The climax of this post is actually TODAY, 9 Jan 2007. My boyfriend and I finally had the opportunity to eat crabs together. We had initially planned to go to East Coast Seafood Centre but when we were on ECP, I saw Roland Restaurant and I told my boyfriend I wanted to eat the fritters there. I used to eat at Palm Beach Restaurant but their food quality deteriorated and it became rather expensive. Also, I found out from my dad that the owner of Roland restaurant was the sibling of the PBR owner thus we ended up there! Hehe. Had loads of fun there and we were feeling BLOATED at the end of the meal. I was very proud of my boyfriend because he ate much more than what he usually did and he was very sweet to shell the crab for me. Anyway, we ordered food sufficient to feed 3 or more people but I guess that's no big deal to the two of us and we cleared most of it, except for a little bit of the fried rice that was left. Below are some pictures of the wonderful dinner we had together.

A happy customer shelling crabs =)

Playing with FOOD at 21.

The remains of our meal.

My boyfriend ate THAT much of crabs. Actually even MORE =)

The BIG BOY made that.

HAPPY CONSUMERS =) I want more seafood next time HOR.

That sums up today. Full school momentum will start to kick in next week. I am going to be so caught up with school once again. That's life right?

See you all soon again!

NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS!

As promised, I'm back with my resolutions for the coming year. To me, resolutions are set purely for the sake of setting it and how many can actually fulfill ALL of them, considering the fact that New Year resolutions are far from being practical most of the time. Haha! One thing for sure, mine are FAR from accomplishment but still...

The number of asterisks (*) indicates the level of difficulty, inversely proportional to the chances of fulfilling it.

1. To grow taller and hit 165cm ****
2. Path out a MORE ideal route for my future career ***
3. DRIVE MY BUS **
4. Multiply and increase in my faith **

I can safely assume that my 2008 resolution would be that of being able to complete part of the coming year's resolution =( Whatever the case, this is NOT stopping me.

As today marks the last day of the year, I would like to acknowledge some of the most important people in my life.

The boyfriend
Thank you for being ever so supportive of me in every single thing that i attempt to do, for always being by my side and for loving me and my family. You have brought tonnes of happiness and joy into my life and i really appreciate it all.

My family for providing me with endless support and my parents for being the most understanding parents EVER.

My spiritual family for making me feel so comfortable with them and in accompanying me in my walk.

My wonderful friends who have been with me through the all the crests and troughs in life.

Thank God for placing all these people in my life =)
